Romantic, naturalistic garden full of hidden features set in three acres. Full borders, meandering paths to a beach garden. a jungle garden with fountains, sculptures and tranquil benches, an ornamental vegetable patch, herb garden and the opportunity to buy cosmetics. The evening will conclude with inclusive tea/coffee and biscuits.

There will be time for lunch and to explore the ancient city of Canterbury, famous for the Cathedral and Chaucer’s Tales with many fine old gabled buildings along the narrow streets. Mount Ephraim is a beautiful family owned estate situated in the heat of Kent. There are elaborate and unusual topiary of birds, and animals, the millennium rose gardens and traditional herbaceous borders, Japanese rock and water gardens and a lake. Light lunch and afternoon teas are served in the restaurant.

a Palladian hall, the seat of the Earls of Leicester, dating from 1750 and situated near the sea on the north Norfolk coast. It has superb collections of ancient statuary, original furniture, tapestries and paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck, Claude, Gaspar Poussin and Gainsborough, Formal planting surrounds the Hall with a 6 acre walled garden which is currently being rejuvenated. All types of refreshment are available in the Courtyard Café.

Chartwell in Kent was the house for over 40 years of Sir Winston Churchill, The house and museum are filled with treasurers from every aspect of Churchill’s life. The grounds are described as the quintessential British flower gardens. Lady Clementine’s rose garden contains the famous “Pascali rose”. refreshments of all types are available at the Café with inside and outside seating.

Peckover House is a secret gem in Wisbech, a classic Georgian town house owned by a Quaker family who run a private bank. The gardens themselves are outstanding – a huge area of sensory delight, complete with an orangery, summer houses, rose garden and croquet lawn. The café offers light lunches and refreshments.
